Year in Review

Over the past six years Three Arches Foundation has proudly supported 47 nonprofit organizations with nearly $10 million in funding towards their efforts to advance the behavioral and physical health and well-being of people in Lakewood and surrounding communities. From the beginning we committed to an approach built on continuous learning, balanced power, and transparency that put nonprofit organizations at the core of the relationship. 25 Local Nonprofits Receive $2 Million to Improve Equitable Access to Care Three Arches Foundation Announces 2023 Annual Grants

Three Arches Foundation, a community-focused grant making foundation, announced $2 million in annual funding toward one-year and multi-year grants to twenty-five local nonprofit organizations working to transform people’s health in Lakewood and surrounding communities. Three Arches Foundation Welcomes New Board Members

Three Arches Foundation, a community-focused grant making foundation, added three new members to its board of directors. Seronica Powell, Sabrina Roberts and Ben Tomins join the 19-member volunteer board to provide leadership, oversight, and strategic guidance in pursuit of the Foundation’s vision of a vibrant community where every person has equitable access to achieve optimal physical and behavioral health. The Foundation also recognized the leadership contributions of outgoing directors Ellen Ospelt and Rick Smith, and honored the memory of director Bill LaPlace who passed away earlier this year. Since its inception, a total of $7.6 million has been given to 41 grant recipients who reflect our belief that improving lives and promoting access to care lies in the mission, vision and leadership of nonprofit organizations that are making a significant impact on local healthcare needs. Lakewood Community Health Needs Assessment Report Released
New Findings on the Social Determinants of Health in Lakewood

The City of Lakewood, alongside its partners at the Healthy Lakewood Foundation, Three Arches Foundation and Center for Community Solutions, released the Lakewood Community Health Needs Assessment Report. This report, the first of two reports tied to the Lakewood Community Health Needs Assessment and Action Plan, comes after nearly a year of research and analysis conducted by Community Solutions. Three Arches Foundation Welcomes New Board Members

Three Arches Foundation, a community-focused grant making foundation, added two new members to the board of directors and elected current member Becky Starck, M.D. as its new secretary. Gina Gavlak and Seona Goerndt join the 19-member volunteer board. Collaborative Process Underway to Identify and Address Evolving Health Needs of Lakewood Residents

The City of Lakewood, Healthy Lakewood Foundation and Three Arches Foundation will lead a Community-focused Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and the development of an Action Plan to identify and address current health and wellness issues affecting Lakewood residents. Partners Announce Final Round of Phase I Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Grant Recipients Coalition designing potential phase 2 of fund to support ongoing needs of nonprofit partners confronting the impact of the pandemic

The Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund coalition announced today the final round of phase 1 grants to support the nonprofit community. In total, $900,000 was awarded to 13 organizations and groups serving Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties. Read More

Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund Awards $500,000 in Initial Round of Grantmaking Fund grows to $5.73 million to support frontline nonprofit organizations in Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties

Overall contributions to the Rapid Response Fund now total more than $5.73 million from 35 different corporate, civic and philanthropic partners alongside individual donations from across the region. New funding partners include the Three Arches Foundation. Read More

Foundation renamed and repurposed with new care of health mission

Three Arches Foundation, formerly known as the Lakewood Hospital Foundation, has officially completed its transition from a hospital-focused development organization to a community-focused grant making foundation that continues its long-standing legacy of philanthropic impact.
